Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET)
The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates to the First year or First semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, in institutions within the State of Karnataka.
COMEDK
A parallel entrance test is held by the Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association under the name of Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK). This is independent of the CET conducted by the government of Karnataka and is used to fill NRI and management quota seats of certain engineering colleges, medical colleges, dental colleges in Karnataka. Non-Karnataka students (students not eligible to be considered in the Karnataka quota) cannot appear for the CET. They can only appear for the COMEDK examination.
The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka". (COMEDK).
(COMEDK) has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2010-2011, for candidates aspiring to pursue Post Graduate Courses in Medicine and Dentistry in the state of Karnataka, in Member Institutions of the Consortium (Medical and Dental Colleges).

AFMC Exam Pattern

Eligible candidates who are interested to join AFMC Pune, to pursue the MBBS course will have to mandatorily appear for the NEET – UG examination to be conducted by CBSE and should have ticked on the option for AFMC. However, in case a candidate had failed to tick on the option for AFMC, he / she may still apply online if eligible as per the conditions mentioned in the prospectus. The NEET – UG roll number is essential for being recognized for admission to AFMC Pune and shall be required at all stages of admission process.

  • NEET-UG has been discontinued and has been replaced by AIPMT.
  • Subject to the final decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the CBSE will conduct an All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in the academic session 2014-15.
  • AIPMT is for admission under the 15% seats in Government Medical/Dental Colleges all over India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir and also for admission to Medical/Dental Colleges voluntarily Participating in the test in selected cities across the Country and Abroad.

Who Conducts NEET-UG

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is a national level common medical entrance examination expected to be held on 05 May, 2013 in India, conducted by the Medical Council of India for students of Medical Science, who wish to qualify for admission to MBBS and MD/MS. It will allow class XII students to sit in a single entrance examination to get admission to almost all medical colleges in India, including private medical colleges.

NEET-UG Exam Pattern

The Examination would consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
The duration of the paper would be 3 hours

All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test - 2015

All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT)

In compliance with the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi would be conducting the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test, for the academic session 2015-16. This entrance test is being conducted for the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directives of the Supreme Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time.
There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test - 2015 for using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control.
Online applications are invited for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test, 2015 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
(i) Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India are Eligible for appearing in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) subject to the conditions prescribed in the Information Bulletin.
(ii) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course.
(iii) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats in Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Government, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
(iv) Candidates from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana are eligible to appear in AIPMT for admission in AFMC, Pune.
(v) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission in MBBS/BDS seats under the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be as per the rules of the State/University/Institution concerned.
(vi) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/STPH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are appearing Class XII examination in 2015 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.
