Courses Details
St. John's Medical College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, and recognized for the following Graduate and Post-Graduate / Diploma Courses, with the approval of the Medical Council of India and the Govt. of Karnataka
Availability of Seats
The availability of seats for the Postgraduate courses indicated here are subject to the decision of the court
M.D. in Anaesthesia-06, Anatomy-04, Biochemistry-04, Community Medicine-06, Dermatology/ Venerology/Leprology-03, General Medicine-09, Microbiology-04, Paediatrics-03, Pathology-06, Pharmacology-04, Physiology-04, Psychiatry-04, Radio-diagnosis-03, M.D. Transfusion Medicine-01, M.D. PMR-02, M.D. Forensic Medicine-01
M.S. in General Surgery-05, Obstetrics & Gynaecology-05, Ophthalmology-03, Orthopaedics-04, ENT-01
Diploma in Diploma in Clinical Pathology-02, Otorhinolaryngology-02, Child Health-04, Obst. & Gynaecology-03, Anaesthesiology-03 and; Diploma in Medical Radio Diagnosis-02

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate seeking admission to this course:
a) Should have qualified for the MBBS degree from any university recognized by the Medical Council of India and should have satisfactorily completed the Rotating Compulsory Internship of one-year before the starting of the courses, and registered with the Indian Medical Council, and thereafter preferably served in India for a period of at least two-years in medically underserved areas, recognized as such by this institution
b) Can apply for any two Postgraduate degree courses and two Postgraduate diploma courses in the same specialties
Note:
a) Special consideration will be given to alumni of St. John's Medical College who have served in medically underserved areas and underprivileged people, recognized as such by the college
b) A candidate who is holding a Postgraduate diploma in a particular specialty will apply for the Postgraduate degree course only in the same specialty and not for any other

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two steps:
Step 1: Only PG NEET-2017 qualified candidates are eligible for admission and based on their All India NEET ranking/NEET score will be called for step 2
Step 2: Objective assessment of the clinical skills (Practical Test) and an Interview to assess the aptitude of the candidate to serve the needy in medically underserved areas and under privileged community, an important objective of our Institution will be conducted from 20th Feb 2017 to 22nd Feb 2017 at St. John's Medical College, Bangalore
Final selection will be based on
a. NEET Score
b. Practical Test score
c. Interview Score
d. In addition to the above, weightage will be given to the following categories of applicants:
i. Graduates, who have served medically underserved areas and underprivileged community, recognised as such by the St. John's Medical College for a period of at least two years
ii. Roman Catholic Community members
iii. Religious sisters (Nuns)
Finally selected candidates must pay the fees within stipulated date
Admission to various courses will be provisional and is subject to confirmation of eligibility by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The decision of the University with regard to eligibility is final
The selected candidate should obtain the Eligibility Certificate personally from the University and submit it along with other certificates before paying the fees

Announcement of Interview List: 10th February 2017
Interviews & Practicals: 20th - 22nd February 2017
Announcement of Final Results: 27th February 2017
Last Date for Admission: 06th March 2017
Commencement of Courses: 01st April 2017
