The AIPMT 2015 national level entrance exam will be conducted on May 3, 2015 by examination authority Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for 15% All India Quota Seats. As such, Careers360 brings you a special series on AIPMT 2015 Preparation.
In this special column on AIPMT 2015 preparation, Mr. Aakash Chaudhry, Director AESPL (Aakash Educational Services Pvt. Ltd.) shares his insights on most important topics of AIPMT 2015 and strategies on how to prepare for them.
According to Mr. Chaudhry, as part of a strong preparation aspirants must thoroughly read NCERT books along with the other study materials in different subjects as most of the questions in AIPMT 2015 are from NCERT. “Aspirants should go through the NCERT textbook word by word and should have complete mastery over it. Aspirants must do a lot of practice in solving the objective problems based on NCERT pattern” says the Director
Now that only six months are left for AIPMT 2015, what preparation plan and strategy do you suggest to the students to balance their Class XII board along with AIPMT preparations?
Answer: First of all, ignoring board exams means jeopardizing your academic record and taking risk with entrance exams means putting your career path at stake. Therefore, I suggest students make a time-table and adhere to it. Preparing for entrance exam needs a lot of dedication and planning. The syllabus is vast so it would be wise to follow a structured and steady approach in course coverage. Focus more on clearing your fundamentals. Understand the concept, only then move to the depth of a particular topic. Also, a student who is serious about cracking AIPMT must also keep taking mock tests and practice MCQ tests on class XII syllabus along with subjective mock tests to maintain the entrance rhythm.
You interact with a lot of students on a frequent basis. What are important topics for Physics, Chemistry and Biology that you think students must focus on to perform well in AIPMT 2015 and other medical entrance exams?
Answer: Consistency is one of the most pivotal elements of success. All topics are important and should be prepared thoroughly. AIPMT 2015 aspirants must equally focus on different sections – Chemistry, Physics and Biology. After completing any topic one must solve objective questions of the studied topics and go through the questions asked in previous year exams from the same topic as it will give insight to the depth of the topic to be covered.
For instance, in previous years most of the questions in Biology came from Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Biomolecules, Biotechnology. Besides, students should also focus on topics like Animalia and Plantae while the main emphasis must be on the characters of Phylum in Non-Chordates and up to class level in Chordates.
In case of chemistry, especially physical chemistry, it is all about clearing concepts and implementing these concepts and procedures by solving maximum MCQs. But, inorganic chemistry is more about facts where students take advantage of their cramming ability! It is imperative that you start with NCERT but to prepare a bit extra consult other relevant books, too. When your concepts are clear, start doing MCQs on simple concepts and then try tougher questions.
In physics, topics like kinematics, laws of motion, electrostatics, and magnetic effects of current and modern physics are important.
Important topics for Physics, Chemistry and Biology:

Please suggest important books for Physics, Chemistry and Biology that are very important and help the AIPMT aspirants prepare in the best way.
Answer: The base book for all the three subjects is NCERT text books. The aspirants should read and understand all the NCERT text. Going through earlier edition of NCERT can also help. Going through the previous year questions is also important, as it will give a real insight into the type of questions being asked from different portions and their difficulty level. One advice to the aspirants is to revise in the reverse order i.e. start from the last chapter first otherwise the students keep on revising the initial chapters again and again.
What could be the possible level of difficulty as compared to last year? Do you think that AIPMT 2015 will be easier than AIPMT 2014?
Answer: The difficulty level of AIPMT exam remains more or less the same. In 2014, the Physics portion was comparatively on the little tough side and needed more time to complete which affected the scores of students in the subject. Though it is difficult to say that what will be the level of AIPMT 2015; whether it is going to be easier or tougher, I suggest that aspirants should stay composed and not panic if it includes any difficult question.
What should be the key areas to play in this AIPMT 2015 exam?
Answer: The key areas to focus on in AIPMT 2015 is again the same i.e. NCERT books. Aspirants should go through the NCERT text books word by word and should have complete mastery over it. Aspirants must do a lot of practice in solving the objective problems given by the NCERT, previous year questions and various practice questions available in different ways. This practice is very important as it will make aspirants to complete the exam in the allotted time and commit less errors.
Any other message you would like to share with AIPMT 2015 aspirants?
Answer: All those who are dreaming to become a doctor, it is the right time to convert their dream into reality by making the best use of their knowledge, energy and efforts in a planed manner. Practicing more and more questions improves speed with accuracy for the exam. Practice previous year medical entrance exam questions as these questions not only give an exact idea of the pattern of exam but also make sure you do only that level of questions which may be asked in AIPMT. While attempting the paper, a medical aspirant should, generally, try attempting Physics after Chemistry & Biology.
