AIPMT 2016

For the year 2016 the AIPMT 2016 will be conducted in the month of May 2016 (dates are tentative now). The AIPMT examination is conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), New Delhi. Some Universities/Institutions/state governments are also participating in the AIPMT for using its merit list for the admission against seats under their control. The counselling for the successful candidates will be conducted by the DGHS under 15% all India quota seats.
Introduction
The AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) is a national level entrance test for the admission to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) courses offered by colleges for 15% merit positions in All India seats and seats offered by the participating Universities or Institutions or state governments. Being an entrance test for the dental courses, it is also named as the AIPDT (All India Pre-Dental Test). The exam is conducted every year in the month of May.

eneral Instructions

The candidates are advised to go through the general information for the AIPMT 2016:
  1. The entrance test can be applied online only.
  2. The Information brochure and the application form will be available only on the official site of the board.
  3. All instructions for the online submission are available in the information brochure.
  4. Before applying the candidates must make sure the eligibility criteria for the admission.
  5. The candidates not satisfying the instruction given in the information brochure shall be instantly disqualified.
  6. The candidates must keep the following documents for the further communication if required:
  • 3 printouts of the confirmation page of online application
  • Fee paid proof
  • 2-3 copies of identical photos that uploaded on the application form
  • Copy of self declaration in case of students belong to AP, J&K and Telangana and applied for 15% all India quota seats.
  1. The candidates must ensure the mobile number and e-mail ID filled on the online application form.
  2. The application fee can be remitted by Credit Card/Debit Card or E-Challan (Depositing in CBSE account with SBI, HDFC, ICICI or Syndicate bank).
  3. Payment through IPO, DD, Pay Order, Cheque or Cash would not be accepted in any circumstances.
  4. The candidates must retain the admit card till the admission in any institution.
  5. Any acceptable correction in the online application form will be intimated through the AIPMT official website.
  6. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
  7. The candidates must choose the examination city and language of the exam carefully as the changes will not be allowed after the submission of application form.
  8. The admit card, result, rank sheet and rank card can be downloaded only through the official site.
  9. The candidates must retain the one post card size photo (colored with white background) for the further use.

Eligibility Criteria

The students are suggested to read carefully the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The eligibility criteria for AIPMT 2016 is as following:

Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats

  • The candidate must be the citizen of India or Overseas citizen.
  • The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of Admission.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years (5 years relaxation for the SC/ST/OBC candidates) as on or before 31st December of the year of Admission.
  • The candidates belong to J&K, AP and Telangana are eligible to appear the exam only for the admission to the AFMC, Pune on the basis of self declaration.

Eligibility for Seats in Participating Bodies

  • The OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) may also appear the exam subject to the rules of government of India.
  • The upper age limit shall be considered as per the rules of states/ universities/ institutions for those candidates, seeking admission under the control of participating Institutions/ Universities/ States.

General Eligibility

  • The candidates must have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology with English.
  • The minimum percentage for general category is 50%, for SC/ST/OBC is 40%, for general PH is 45% and for SC/ST/OBC handicapped is 40%.
  • The candidates appearing for the qualifying exam can also apply. They must have to show the passing certificates complying with the percentage criteria at the time of first round of counselling.
  • Marks obtained in math shall not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

Admission and Reservation

AIPMT is the gateway to admission to medical and dental seats under the 15% All India quota in government and dental medical colleges except the states of AP, Telangana and J&K. Many universities and institutions are voluntary participating in the AIPMT 2015 and consider its merit list for to offer admission under their control. Admission will be made on the basis of All India merit list of the candidates on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in AIPMT exam.
Reservation for the 15% All India seats are to be given on the following basis:
  • 15% seats are reserved for the SC candidates.
  • 5% seats are reserved for the ST candidates.
  • 27% seats are reserved for Non-Creamy OBCs candidates.
  • 3% seats are reserved for the physically handicapped person (only locomotors disabilities of lower limbs).
Candidates from creamy layer and do not come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention their category as General. The handicapped candidates must have to produce the Disability Certificate (issued by Safdurjung Hospital/ All India Institute of Physically Medicine and Rehabilitation/ Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research/ Madras Medical College) before the schedule date of counselling.
Other than 15% All India Seats:
In case the States/ Universities/ Institutions select to admit the students, that may prepare the separate rank list of the students on the basis of AIPMT rank list and other criteria. The admission rules shall be applicable as per the specific state or the university. The Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the DG AFMC, ministry of Defence, and government of India. In that case the candidates would have to apply on the AFMC official website.

Important Dates for AIPMT 2016

Important dates of the AIPMT 2016 are as the following:
  • Starts of online registration: 1st week of December 2015
  • Last date of online registration (without late fee): last week of December 2015
  • Last date of online registration (with late fee): last week of January 2016
  • Form correction date: Two week’s window in Feb 2016
  • Issue date of Admit Card: 1st week of April 2016
  • Date of examination: 1st week of May 2016
  • Declaration of results: 1st week of June 2016

Application Form and Fee

The AIPMT application form 2016 will be available online only on the official website of the board on the month December 2015. The application form can be submitted through the online mode only along with the application fee and other required particulars. The candidates looking for the AIPMT 2016 are advised to stay with us on our website to know more and official details about the application form which shall be prescribed by the board on time. The examination fee for the general and OBC candidates is Rs. 1200/- (without late fee) or Rs. 2400/- (with late fee) and the application fee for the SC/ST/PH candidates is Rs. 650/- (without late fee) or Rs. 1850/- (with late fee).

How to Submit the Online Application Form

  • Log on to the official website of AIPMT.
  • Download the information brochure and read carefully the all requirement for online application form submission and eligibility criteria.
  • Go to the link “Apply Online” and click the same.
  • Fill the online application form part 1 and note down the registration number.
  • Upload the scanned JPEG images of photo, signature, left hand thumb impression and self declaration (in case of candidates belong to AP, J&K or Telangana state) at part 2 of the application form.
  • Make payment through appropriate channel as prescribed above and mention the details at part 3 of the application (in case fee remit by the e-Challan).
  • Take print out of the confirmation page at part 4 of online application form.
  • Submit the application form.
  • Students must check the status of their submitted online application form.

AIPMT 2016 Admit Card

After the successful completion of the submission of the application forms, the board will generate the AIPMT 2016 admit card to all accepted candidates on the official site of the board. The admit card can be downloaded from the first week of the April 2016. All exam details like examination centre, roll number, time and date of examination, language of the paper and personal ID will be mentioned in the admit card. The admit card is the main ticket of the candidature throughout the entire admission procedure. An enclosure of a format for pasting the post card size photo can be downloaded through the official site. No other mode will be entertained except online for any communication about admit card.

Exam Pattern for AIPMT 2016

The AIPMT entrance test will consist of one paper only comprising 180 objective type questions with four objectives on the subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The answer shall be marked on a separate specially designed sheet using ball point pen only. The duration of the entrance test would be 3 hours only. The candidates can choose the language of paper either English or Hindi. Each correct answer will carry the 4 marks while any wrong answer or multiple answers will be punished with 25% of the total question’s marks.

Display of Answer Key and OMR Sheet

The CBSE will display the OMR Sheet and the answer key before the final declaration of the result. This is for giving the opportunity to the candidates to challenge in case of any uncertainty in the result on the website. The display of the answer key and OMR sheet will be opened in the third week of May 2016.

Declaration of Result

The AIPMT 2016 result will be declared by the board on its official website by the first week of June 2016. There will not be the separate result for SC/ST candidates. The result will be declared after the closing of window for answer sheet. On the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in AIPMT 2016 examination, the board will generate a merit list for all India seats.

AIPMT 2016 Counselling

The AIPMT counselling 2016 will be conducted by the DGHS (Directorate General of Health Science). The CBSE will only conduct the examination, result and merit list. The counselling procedure is bifurcated in three sections; Offline counselling, Online counselling and counselling for Delhi University.
