AIIMS PG Entrance Exam 2015 – All
India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts PG Entrance examination
twice a year for admission to as many as 160 MD/MS and MDS seats in various
streams. AIIMS (New Delhi) announces notification for MD/MS and MDS courses in
months of January and July every year. The MD/MS and MDS entrance exam for July
session is conducted in the month of May and for January session exam is held
in November. The AIIMS PG 2015 for January Session will be held on
November 11, 2014. The application procedure for January Session begins on
September 18 and last date for applying is October 16, 2014.
AIIMS PG 2015 Eligibility: Important Highlights of AIIMS PG
2015 Eligibility Criteria are given below:
- The candidate must possess a MBBS degree if he/she is seeking an admission to MD/MS or should possess a BDS degree if he/she is seeking admission to MDS from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India
- The candidate must have completed the required 12 Months rotating internship/practical training on or before 30th January 2015 if he/she is seeking admission through the AIIMS PG 2015 for January session or 30th July 2015 if he/she is seeking admission through AIIMS PG 2015 for the July 2015 Session
- The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in MBBS or BDS if he/she belongs to general category or an aggregate of 50% marks if he/she belongs to SC/ST category
AIIMS PG 2015 Exam Pattern: AIIMS PG 2015 exam will be a
computer based test as per the syllabus prescribed by the examination
authority. The booklet of AIIMS PG 2015 exam will have questions from subjects
taught during the MBBS course. Read important points of AIIMS PG 2015 Exam
Pattern given below:
For MD/MS:
- Duration: 3 Hours
- Number of Questions: 200 Objective Type Questions
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd of the marks allocated for a right response will be deducted for the incorrect response
- Syllabus: Exam will be based on the syllabus for MBBS course
For MDS:
- Duration: 90 Minutes
- No. of questions: 90 Objective type questions
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd of the marks allocated for a right response will be deducted if the response is incorrect
- Syllabus: Exam will be based on the syllabus for BDS course
AIIMS PG 2015 Application
Procedure: The application procedure of AIIMS
PG 2015 for January Session begins on September 18, 2014 and the last date for
applying is October 16, 2014. While the AIIMS PG 2015 Application form for July
session will start in the month of January 2015. Candidate must note that AIIMS PG 2015 Application Form for January and
July session must be submitted online. It must be noted that offline
applications or printed copies will not be accepted.
The candidates will be required to
fill in the basic details in Online AIIMS PG
2015 Application Form such as academic details, internship
details and other personal details. Payment for AIIMS PG 2015 Application Form
can be made through computer generated Challan of designated banks or through
Debit Card/Credit Card.

AIIMS PG 2015 Admit Card: Candidates whose application will be
accepted can download AIIMS PG 2015 admit card two to three weeks before the
AIIMS PG 2015 exam. The admit will have the candidate’s detail like name, roll
number, exam center, time and examination instructions.
AIIMS PG 2015 Result: The AIIMS PG 2015 result will be declared within two weeks
after the entrance exam. The result of only qualified candidates will be
declared. The minimum qualifying marks of AIIMS PG 2015 is 50 percentile.
AIIMS PG 2015 Merit List: AIIMS PG 2015 merit list will be based on the candidates
score in the AIIMS PG 2015 entrance exam. AIIMS PG 2015 merit list will be
prepared only for those candidates who will secure the qualifying marks in the
entrance exam. The merit list of each category will consist of total of 8 times
the number of seats available for allotment and candidates will be called as
per their rank in merit list. The minimum qualifying marks of AIIMS PG 2015
is 50 percentile.
AIIMS PG 2015 Selection Procedure: Selection will be made entirely on the basis of merit in
the entrance examination and the choice of subject will be allocated on the
basis of personal counseling. In selection procedure institutional preference
shall be given to candidates who have graduated from AIIMS, New Delhi for
admission against 50% of total of the open general seats without any discipline
wise preference. Any seat left vacant out of the AIIMS preferential seats or
any other reserved seats shall be available to other open general category
candidate in order of merit.
AIIMS PG 2015 Reservation of Seats: A total of 49.5% of Post-Graduate seats excluding those for
Sponsored/Foreign National candidates are reserved for the candidates belonging
to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes
(Non-creamy layer).

AIIMS PG 2015 Counselling: In each category the number of candidates called for
counseling will be 8 times the number of seats. The counseling will be done
strictly by combined merit list. The candidates in order of merit will exercise
their choice of subject according to availability of seats. In case of
absentee, the next candidate in merit will be considered.
AIIMS PG 2015 Contract:
- Each Junior Resident will be on contract service for a period of three years
- The original certificates of candidate who opts for a confirmed seat will be retained in the Academic Section. The same will not be returned to the candidate before completion of the course unless he/she deposits a sum of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) once seat has been confirmed irrespective of the fact whether he/she joins the course or not. If any candidate who joins the MD/MS/MDS course, leaves the said course within six months of joining, he/she shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) and any candidate who joins the PG courses and leaves after six months of joining shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakh only) ascompensation forlosses incurred by the AIIMS due to such midstream departure
