Amrita University - Admission Notification Medical & Dental PG Programs 2016

Applications are invited by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Coimbatore for admission to Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programs offered in various specializations for the academic session 2016. The notification for Amrita University Coimbatore PG Medical & Dental Entrance Exam 2016 has been announced.

MD (Clinical): Pathology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Anaesthesialogy, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Radio Therapy, Radio Diagnosis, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

MD (Non-Clinical): Anatomy, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology and Physiology

MS Course in Otorhinolaryngology ENT; Ophthalmology; General Surgery; Orthopaedics; Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGY)

Diploma Course in Medical Radiotherapy (DMRT); Psychological Medicine (DPM); Anesthesiology (DA); Ophthalmology (DO); Orthopedics (D.Ortho); Otorhinolaryngology (DLO); Child Health (DCH); Dermatology Venerology & Leprosy (DDVL); Medical Radio Diagnosis (DMRD); Obsterics & Gynaecology (DGO)

Duration of the Courses:

MD/MS: (a) Three years from the date of commencement of classes; (b) Two years in case of those who have recognized Diploma in the same subject

Diploma: Two years

MDS: Three years from the date of commencement of classes

Eligibility Criteria

For MD/MS/Diploma Programs: Candidates should permanent registration from Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council after completion of compulsory rotating Internship (Those who will complete their Internship by 30th April 2016 are also eligible to apply)

Candidates who failed more than 3 times, subject wise in any examination during the MBBS course are not eligible

Candidate should be maximum 30 years as on 31st December 2016 for clinical subjects. No age limit for MD - Non-Clinical & all PG Diploma courses

Candidates who hold MBBS Degrees from Foreign Universities should have passed the Screening Test conducted by the National Board of Examinations

Diploma (MCI Recognized) Holders need to do only two years as lateral entry for admission into MD courses

For MDS Programs: Candidates should have a BDS degree from a recognized Dental college and permanent registration from any of the State Dental Councils. Those who are due to complete their compulsory rotating internship on or before 30th April 2016 are also eligible to apply

Such candidates should produce their registration certificate on or before 10th May 2016

Selection Procedure

Selection is based on a National level Amrita Entrance Examination and subsequent counseling conducted by Amrita Vishwa vidyapeetham

Date of Entrance Exam for MDS Program: 05th March 2016 (Saturday, 09.30 am - 12.30 noon)

Date of Entrance Exam for MD/MS/Diploma: 06th March 2016 (Sunday, 09.30 am - 12.30 noon)

Venue of the Exam MD/MS/Diploma: Kochi (AIMS), Bangalore and Delhi; and for MDS: AIMS (Kochi) only
