It is an all India level examination conducted twice in a year i.e. January and July session. PGIMER Chandigarh was considered and planned in the year1960 to deliver state of art facilities to candidates in medical education and research.

PGIMER organizes entrance exam for MDS course once a year and for MD/MS twice a year. Students will be enrolled to PGIMER MD/MS or MDS programme only on the basis of All India merit list.

Required Eligibility criteria for MD/MS course:

• Interested candidate must have qualified MBBS, or its equivalent qualification, from a standard University/Institute recognized by the MCI- (Medical Council of India). They must have finished or due to complete a one year rotatory medical training on or before examination year.
• Aspirants should be registered with State/ Central Medical Registration Council.

Required Eligibility criteria for MDS

Candidate must hold Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree of Panjab University, Chandigarh or any other University recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI)

Candidate must have finished or due to complete a one year rotatory medical training on or before examination year.

Applicants should be registered with State/ Central Dental Registration Council.

How to apply for PGIMER 2016

Procedure to apply for PGIMER 2016 is discussed below:

The interested and eligible candidates need to fill personal, educational and internship details as prescribed in the application form.

After filling the all details general candidate need to make payment of RS 1000 (for MD/MS courses) as PGIMER 2016 application fee (Rs 800 for SC/ST category). The payment of PGIMER 2016 application fee can be made through e-challan in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI). Candidate are advised to submit the duly filled form along with necessary documents and fee on or before the last date of application form submission.

PGIMER 2016 Examination Pattern:

PGIMER 2016 exam will be paper based test. Below here we provided the important highlights of PGIMER 2016 Exam Pattern for MD/MS and MDS.

 Exam scheme of MD/MS:

• The duration of test 3 hours and will be held in a single section.
• PGIMER 2016 exam will comprise 250 Multiple Choices Questions with single correct answer out of five options.
• The exam will be organized in English language only.
• There will be negative marking for wrong response.

Exam scheme of MDS:

• The duration of test is one and half hours and will be held in a single section.
• PGIMER 2016 exam will comprise 100 Multiple Choices Questions with single correct answer out of five options.
• The exam will be organized in English language only
• There will be no practical/ clinical examination

PGIMER 2016 selection process:

The selection of candidates will be truly made on the basis of marks or rank scored in PGIMER 2016 exam for MD/MS or MDS course.

Rest of seats allotment will be made on the basis of counseling.

The admit card of PGIMER 2016 for MD/MD or MDS entrance exam will be issued to only successfully registered candidates.
