University of Calicut (UC) Kolkata invites applications for Master of Science (M.Sc) courses in the disciplines of Health Sciences of academic year 2015-16

Important Dates

Last Date of Receipt of Filled-up-Application Form: 15th October 2015 (Thursday)

Courses offered  

1. M.Sc Medical Biochemistry: 2 years (4 Semesters)

No. of Seats: 20 Seats

Eligibility: Pass in 4 year B.Sc Medical Biochemistry Examination of the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto

2. M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology: 2 years (4 Semesters)

No. of Seats: 20 Seats

Eligibility: Pass in 4 year B.Sc Medical Biochemistry Examination of the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto

3. M.Sc Medical Microbiology: 2 years (4 Semesters)

No. of Seats: 20 Seats

Eligibility: Pass in 4 year B.Sc Medical Microbiology Examination of the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto

The applicants who have passed the qualifying examinations from the University of Calicut will be given 5 points as weightage. In addition to this, 15% marks scored by candidates in Part III of the qualifying exam will be given as nativity weightage for those who are natives of the districts of Trichur, Palghat, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wynad (except Mananthavady Taluk)

Fee for Admission  

Only 10% of the SC/ST students will be exempted from payment of tuition fee if the Govt. reimburses the same to the University

Other Fees

(a) Caution deposit Rs 10,000/- at the time of admission (Rs.5000/- for SC/ST/OEC Students); (b) Admission fee Rs 10,000/-; (c) Lab Rs 10,000/-; (d) Library Rs.5000/-; (e) University Union Fee Rs.50/-; (f) Womens Development Cell Fee Rs.50/- and (g) Sports Affiliation Fee Rs.100/-

Exam Fees

All students have to pay an Exam Fee of Rs 1705/- Per Semester or as fixed by the University

How to Apply?

Application Forms and Prospectus can be downloaded from the University Website www.universityofcalicut.info and those who apply in the  form downloaded from the website should enclose a chalan receipt for Rs.300/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST Candidates on the basis of valid community certificate, issued by a competent authority)

The chalan receipt should be attached along with the filled up application form

The duly filled in application forms along with copies of mark lists and other documents should be forwarded to "The Director, School of Health Sciences, University of Calicut-673635"
