NEIGRIHMS Shillong PG Medical Entrance Exam 2016

NEIGRIHMS Shillong - Entrance Exam & Admission to the MD/MS Courses Session 2016-17

North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong application are invited from the eligible candidates to admission in PG (MD /MS) courses through an entrance examination which will be conducted on scheduled date for the academic year 2016-17. The notification for NEIGRIHMS Shillong PG Medical Entrance Exam 2016 has been announced.

MD/MS Courses Details

NEIGRIHMS will conduct Entrance Examinations to fill up the seats available for Open Northeast (NE) category including the seats reserved for the students passing MBBS from NEIGRIHMS only
They are of 3 (three) years duration
The candidate joining MD/MS degree course shall be called Junior Resident (PG)

Seats Availability

The number of seats available in each specialty for the session 2016-17 is shown below:
(01) Anatomy-02 Seats; (02) Anaesthesiology-04 Seats; (03) General Medicine-02 Seats; (04) Obst & Gynaecology-02 Seats; (05) General Surgery-02 Seats; (06) Microbiology-03 Seats; (07) Pathology-03 Seats; and (08) Radio diagnosis-02 Seats
Total Seats: 20 (50% all India Quota Seats-11 & NE-05 or NEIGRIHMS-04)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be a Resident Indian National
i) Permanent Resident/Domicile of one of the 8 (eight) North-eastern states of India including Sikkim to be eligible for Northeast open category seats
ii) Bonafide student of NEIGRIHMS (irrespective of domicile status) to be eligible for admission in to the seats reserved for the students passing MBBS from NEIGRIHMS

Important Dates

Availability of Online Application Form and Prospectus: 21st December 2015
Last Date of Submission of Online Application Form (Online mode only): 20th January 2016
Date of Entrance Exam: 13th February 2016 (Saturday)
Availability of Admit Card on Institute’s Website: 27th January 2016
Date of Results of the Written Test: Will be declared within 24 hrs of entrance exam
Date of 1st Counseling: 08th April 2016 (Friday)
Commencement of the Session: 30th May 2016
